What’s new at Green Mountain Books and Prints?
Lots of exciting new local books have come into the store in the last few weeks. Here is a sample:
Gone
A new book of strong poetry by Vermont author and president of Marlboro college Ellen McCulloch-Lovell. Gone is a paperback book from the Janus Press; the cover features a cloudscape by Claire Van Vliet. This book can be purchased from Green Mountain Books and Prints via email or telephone, it is $10.00 a copy. Shipping and handling is $2.50 and Vermont residents should add 6% sales tax.
The Good Living Review by the Writing workshop at the St. Johnsbury House. A collection of tales and recollections by writers participating in this workshop. Quite possibly your friends and neighbors!
Spinning Out by David Stahler Jr. A young adult book, taking place in the Northeast Kingdom of Vermont, Spinning Out is the tale of two friends struggling with depression and mental illness. Every High School teacher should read this book.
The Secret Room by Beth Kanell. The story of two Vermont girls who discover a secret room which leads them into research about the Underground Railroad in Vermont.
Ethan Allen: His Life and Times by Willard Sterne Randall
A three-dimensional portrait of this venerated leader of the Green Mountain Boys, a man whose fame was so great he became a mythical figure even in his own lifetime! *Signing*
Lyndon Memories: Celebrating Lyndon State College’s First 100 Years” by Robert B. Michaud
In Lyndon Memories Mr. Michaud shares the behind-the-scenes stories of the College’s transformation, seven presidents, the construction of 15 new campus buildings, and the fate of the much-beloved Vail Hall. A very human narrative told with affection and good humor by a writer who cares deeply for the College.
